The Fire Has Sparked — We Didn’t Start the Phire is Now Available!
There’s a particular thrill to lighting a match and watching a story finally catch fire. Today, after years of simmering ideas, rewrites, character antics, unexpected detours, and more than a few raised eyebrows from the Seven Forgetful Gods, I’m delighted to say it:
We Didn’t Start the Phire is officially published and available on Amazon.
This is the first full-length novel in the World in Draft universe to make its debut, and seeing it out in the wild is surreal, exciting, and a little bit electrifying.
A Story About Magic, Miscommunication, and the Beautiful Chaos of Heroism
This book started with a simple question:
What happens when a bard with strong opinions gets tangled in magical politics she never asked for?
From that seed grew a story full of sharp wit, unexpected alliances, messy emotions, and a flood of magical consequences no one is properly prepared for. Along the way, the cast developed more depth, humor, and stubbornness than I ever expected — because of course they did.
Now the story is complete, polished, and ready for readers who enjoy fantasy with humor, heart, and a little edge.

What This Means for the Series
Publishing Phire marks the true beginning of bringing the World in Draft to life in a connected, ongoing way. This book sets tone and foundation for many stories ahead — comedic, heartfelt, magical, and occasionally more dangerous than originally planned.
Next projects in the pipeline:
completing the final section of Bite Me, Your Majesty for my writing group;
preparing the initial draft of The Wa’ We Were for focused review during my upcoming vacation;
continuing behind-the-scenes development for future books across the wider arc.
There’s so much more to come, and I can’t wait to share it.
A Thank You From the Ledger
To everyone who encouraged me, read early drafts, gave feedback, or simply believed I could wrangle this world into a book — thank you. Your support kept this project blazing even when I was sure the fire had gone out.
And if you’re discovering my work for the first time:
Welcome. There’s a whole world waiting for you.
